Kevin Lawry, 38, of Plainview, was identified as the victim struck by 39-year-old Veronica Marmol, of College Point, Queens, heading east in a Jeep Wrangler at Old Country Road and Floral Avenue, just before 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 1, as previously reported by Daily Voice.
Marmol did not stop and continued heading east, leaving Lawry seriously injured at the scene, according to police. Lawry was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Marmol was arrested without incident Thursday, Jan. 2, and arraigned in Nassau County Court on a charge of leaving the scene of an incident resulting in death.
